Emily Hutton

I am a senior at Wright State University in the Theatre Design & Technology Program emphasizing in Sound Design. Currently, I am the Sound Designer for Wright State University's fun-loving production of The Music Man on the Festival Playhouse Stage. My design features a 22-piece orchestra in an orchestra pit configuration as well as 26 Sennheiser body pack microphones on the performers. We are using a Yamaha M7CL as the main mixing desk for vocals, orchestra, and monitor mixes.
Last fall, I was the Front-of-House Mix Engineer and Assistant Sound Designer for Wright State University's production of the hit Broadway musical, Chicago. This was definitely my favorite production to work on to date. I hope to mix a show, maybe even Chicago, on Broadway someday.
I grew up in Mason, Ohio but my heart is in Pittsburgh. I have 3 sisters who are all also in college and two brothers (yes, they are twins) who are about to start second grade! I am the first in my family to pursue a career in technical theatre. I have always loved theatre, film, and performing. But ever since I first stepped foot behind a console I knew that was where I was meant to be.
